This past week, in particular over the weekend, there has been a lot of news coverage concerning the recent recall of Peanut Butter. This is a serious issue impacting a wide range of products containing peanut butter and peanut butter paste. A number of manufacturers have initiated voluntary recalls that utilized products from the supplier in question. The purpose of this memo is to assure you that Linette Quality Chocolates is not associated with this situation and we do not use any ingredients or have any peanut butter packed for us by the Peanut Corporation of America or by the King Nut Company that have been potentially connected to the outbreak.

As you are aware, Linette Quality Chocolates utilizes peanuts in our peanut butter products. Again, we process our peanuts in our own systems and do not purchase these ingredients from the source of the recall. We are very aware of the consumer awareness of this issue and want to share our concern of the broad implications of this recall. We are taking every precaution to communicate our confidence in the products we produce for your label. In addition, we will continue to take steps to improve and invest in the process if ensuring the safety of your products.

This is a difficult situation for all of us and confusing for the consumer. Our sales personnel will be in contact with your organization to provide further communications regarding this issue.
